At Coastal Cove Candle Co., we use hand-crafted wooden wicks that are not only eco-friendly and clean-burning, but also made from FSC Certified Wood.

Our wooden wicks produce a subtle crackle that evokes the cozy atmosphere of a fireplace. Compared to cotton wicks, wooden wicks are more sustainable as they are made from 100% sappy fruit trees. They burn more evenly and cleanly, and produce less soot than traditional wicks.

At Coastal Cove Candle Co., we use soy wax which is a 100% natural wax derived from soybeans. Soy wax is eco-friendly and made from renewable resources, unlike paraffin wax which is made from petroleum. It burns slower, lasts longer, and emits less black soot. Additionally, soy wax is an excellent fragrance carrier that doesn't require chemical amplifiers, resulting in a well-balanced true to scent candle.

Our choice for fragrance is to utilize lab-made and certified clean synthetic premium oils due to the possible toxicity of certain essential oils to humans and fur babies. While not all essential oils are harmful, we prefer to err on the side of caution. In addition, lab-made fragrances are more sustainable, paraben-free, phthalate-free, toxin free, and of course never tested on animals. It's important to note that every maker has their own preferences, and this is just what we have chosen to use.
